I use some abbreviations and terms in the reviews to keep them as safe as possible.
BDSM--Bondage & Discipline/Domination & Submission/Sadism & Masochism: kinky sex.
CSA--child sexual abuse: a minor is hurt. There are many places to start
seeking
support for adult survivors of CSA.
DV--domestic violence: a partner or family member abuses someone. Resources for those living with DV.
ED--eating disorder. See Something Fishy
for more information on EDs.
PTSD--post traumatic stress disorder. What
is Posttraumatic Stress Disorder?
Secondary--a secondary survivor is a friend, relative, or partner of a person
who has been through sexual violence. Are you a secondary? It is important for you to
seek support.
SI--self-injury: a person cuts, burns, or otherwise harms themself. See LifeSIGNS.
*t*--triggering: the content might set off panic attacks, flashbacks,
extreme upset, resorting to unsafe coping behaviors, an episode of depression, etc.
Any of the reviews on this site can trigger (especially for words naming sexual violence),
but I do try to put a " **t** " before any especially upsetting content.
